What do I need to do prior to the sleep consultation?Once you have purchased a sleep consultation online, I will email you to arrange a suitable date for your consultation. If you would like to check availability first, please send me an email at availability@amyshackletonsleep.co.uk. Prior to your consultation, I will send you a questionnaire to complete and return prior to the consultation. I will also ask you to complete a sleep diary as part of the questionnaire.

How does the consultation work?I run in-person and Skype/FaceTime consultations. Both types of consultation cover the same areas and you will get a tailored written sleep plan after both types of consultation. I will ask you about your current sleep situation and your goals to get an idea of your desired outcomes and the type of improvements that you would like to see. Each consultation will last up to 2 hours and we will discuss the root causes to any problems. I will then give you a variety of options so that you can choose a sleep plan that suits your family situation and desired outcome. After the consultation and within 48 hours (usually sooner), I will email your personalised sleep plan covering all the areas that we discussed during your consultation, together with a step-by-step sleep plan. We can also arrange to have your consultation in a local cafe or other location of your preference. We can agree on the best location when booking a date for your consultation.

What if I need help implementing the plan? You will not be left alone, support and having full confidence in the chosen method is vital to ensuring the success of any sleep plan. I will check in with you regularly after the consultation using your preferred method (i.e.phone, text or email) for the first four weeks following your consultation. You can ask me any questions and we may suggest tweaks to the sleep plan after you have tried an approach for an agreed period of time. I will also give you some tips and guidance of what to expect as your infant grows so that you feel confident about your infant’s sleep as he or she reaches new developmental stages. You may decide that you want to have a further consultation at a later date or have additional on-going support. I offer a 20% discount for any follow up consultations. We can also discuss a tailored plan of support for your family.

What is the difference between the VIP and standard package? With the VIP package you get to keep a hard copy of my infant sleep guide. Many parents find this incredibly helpful as my guide sets out the evidence-base and research supporting infant sleep issues. This can be very useful when explaining your new sleep plan to other family members and it is a useful resource to help you look back on and understand your infant’s sleep. With both the standard and VIP package, you will receive a written sleep plan tailored to your family and your specific sleep goals following your consultation. The VIP package also includes a luxury goody bag for new parents. I realise that many new parents are tired, confused and overwhelmed and while the main focus is on getting your little one to sleep it is important for new parents to have some “me time”. My goodie bag is a present to new parents with tried and tested sleep goodies that actually work. The items in the goodie bag will compliment your sleep programme and give you a much deserved treat.
